Every Little Piece of My Heart

    Every Little Piece of My Heart

    Kirk had given his heart to Christ on June 17th, 1994 on the back of a homemade/makeshift tour bus in Orlando Florida at 3:30 the morning. For a long time things were confusing for him to say the least and honestly as he recounts;

    “I was actually scared to pick up the guitar, I was afraid of what it might do to me or more importantly what I might do with it….. So for many years I didn’t play I didn’t even touch a guitar…. Then around 1997 I picked up the guitar for the first time again and wrote a song called Calvary’s Tree. And when my spiritual father and mentor Pastor Bill Tulip Senior and visiting Evangelist Tommy Tyson heard me play the song at a men’s Bible study, everyone wept… Tommy Tyson reached over and placed his hand on my shoulder and confidently said, son the anointing is upon you to change generations….. And Pastor Bill stared at me with this look of awe on his face and with a tear in his eye….. He told me Kirk, that song belongs to the church that is one of the most amazing songs I’ve ever heard… He make me get up in front of the church of over 1500 people and play the song….. When I saw the reaction it had on people I kind of just started writing again and started to understand what God wanted me to do with music”
